Christianity in Nigeria
Christianity is one of the three main religions in Nigeria. The first church was built in Badagry in 1845 by Thomas Birch Freeman, a Methodist missionary from Britain. Since then, churches have been built all over the country. The early missionaries preached the message of Christ. They built schools to educate people, they also built health centers where sick people were treated.
Christians believe in miracle healing and the power of the Holy Spiritto direct their lives. They practice charity and fellowship in prayer, worship and thanksgiving. There are now many Christians denominations in Nigeria. Prominent among them are:
Methodist Church
Catholic Church

Nigerian Baptist Convention
The Redeem Christian Church of God
